WHAT TO EXPECT

About First Baptist Church:

Since 1872, First Baptist Church Dripping Springs has existed to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We pursue God through our worship, teaching, fellowship and service while being confident that as we draw closer to God, He will keep His promise and draw closer to us. None of us are perfect; we come to this church to join with others who have hurts, struggles, doubts or questions. We truly believe that real hope and healing is found by those who believe and follow Jesus Christ.

We believe that our faith is not intended to be lived in isolation. We were made for community…experienced through a relationship with God and with each other. We do not just casually attend church; rather, we come together regularly to celebrate the great work of Jesus while also serving others throughout the Dripping Springs area.

What to Expect:

Sundays at 9:30AM

Every Sunday morning, we gather to grow in our love for God and each other through rightly handling Scripture. We deeply study the Bible, not for the sake of just knowing more information, but in pursuit of authentic life transformation. In all of our learning environments we seek to explore the truths found in God’s word and then apply them to our lives. Because we believe that the Scripture is clear that parents are the primary disciple-makers in the lives of their children, we hope to partner with parents in the discipleship of their kids.

ADULTS: we offer a variety of Bible study classes, every one of which is committed to helping you become a distinctly Christian disciple. Regardless of where you plug in, you will find fellowship with other Christ followers as you open the Bible and mature in your faith.

STUDENTS: middle and high school students grow in gospel maturity through our weekly study of the Word of God. Constantly we strive to help our students understand that what they believe affects how they live. 

KIDS: in both our Preschool and Children’s ministries, we strive to create the first building blocks of a gospel-centered foundation for our children. Weekly our kids learn about the nature and character of God… and how much He loves them. Our commitment is to teach children about God in ways that are engaging, safe and fun.

Worship at 11AM

Our Sunday morning worship service is just that… a time to worship God in spirit and in truth. As a multigenerational church, we gather to remember the good news of the gospel through song, preaching, giving and the celebration of the ordinances of baptism and communion. Although no two Sundays are exactly the same, you can always expect congregational singing of both the classic hymns of our faith along with modern songs of worship. Services typically last around an hour or so.

Children are always welcome to worship alongside their family at our church. A special time during the worship service is usually set aside for kids to hear from one of our leaders about God and His love for them. Monthly, children are dismissed early from the service to attend a fun time of worship. Our goal during this regular worship service is to inspire children to know and love Jesus Christ.
